The rise of the US dollar starting from 1899
Nothing about hashtag#dedollarization is new or startling. Take a look at this
hashtag#datavisualization on reserve assets to see why.
Takeaways:
1️⃣ The dollar’s rise wasn’t sudden. It occurred over several decades. It first succeeded in the 1920s, then conceded to the British pound after the Great Depression and then took over post-WW2.
2️⃣ The growth of the US economy, the development of US financial markets, and the role of the US in WW1 and WW2 were contributed significantly to dollar's rise.
3️⃣ The gold standard played a significant role. It created challenges for countries that attempted to maintain it in the face of economic shocks.
4️⃣ The dollar's position as the leading international currency began to erode in the 1970s, as the US ran persistent balance of payments deficits.

This is a sensitive topic - US government debt. So I’ve done a data visualisation on it.
US healthcare is the most expensive in the world
Переглядів 681Місяць тому
Wow! The US spent a staggering $11,031.29 per capita on healthcare in 2021 (which is the latest data I have). That’s over DOUBLE the average for most wealthy nations. Is this a trend? Well yes, it's a long term one. US healthcare costs have risen from just 5 per cent of GDP in 1962 to 17 per cent in 2022 and have most likely contributed to the US’s ballooning debt. Two major factors are driving...
Pepsi vs. Coca Cola

Pepsi vs. Coca Cola! Both companies are also celebrated as Dividend Aristocrats, so this is an interesting performance comparison to run. While Coca-Cola remains a popular choice for a refreshing afternoon drink, PepsiCo's stock has delivered more to its shareholders over the past five years, outperforming Coca-Cola significantly. Take a look at this data visualisation. I ran it back to June 19...
50 years of US dominance

No surprises here! US equities dominate the global stock market, but the backstory is what's truly fascinating. I'm coming to the end of my US trip, so I've thrown this hashtag#datavisualisation together.
Tesla vs. Toyota over 1 year

#Tesla versus #Toyota. To be fair these are very different companies, selling different products to different markets. Yet they still provide the same solution to get from A to B. NVIDIA versus Bitcoin and Gold

NVIDIA and Bitcoin seem locked in a fierce battle, each striving to become the most coveted route to riches for ordinary investors. Fuelled by "animal spirits," enthusiastic investors are writing a rosy narratives for both and their futures. What do you think? If you want to know my thoughts, read my newsletter: lnkd.in/gtfC3TNK. NVIDIA journey to $2 trillion in data
Переглядів 2 тис.4 місяці тому
#NVIDIA’s market cap has massively outpaced Intel. An odd comparison? Not for me! I grew up with both brands as a teenager: Intel had its line up of Pentium processors and NVIDIA had its graphics cards. Intel has lost ground to Apple silicon and its arch-rival AMD. NVIDIA, by contrast, has exploded off the blocks. Watch this data visualisation to see the story unfold. When you look back, it's a...

the fact is India can't compete with China.. not even in 100 years.. because they are focused on development and India is focused on Religious extremisms
Yes you can build big succes with cheap slaves and no human rights, from 1989 when China killed students on the square they have go on with that, now they have peaked a new countries will fill the ”cheap” gap.
As a Croatian I have to warn Asian people: the West will try to meddle between your countries and between groups within your countries.
Who believes numbers coming out of China? Not me for one.
Well explained. Thanks for bringing up the video. Financial education is indeed required for more than 70% of the society in the country as very few are literate on the subject…
Trading in Bitcoin now is the wisest thing to do now especially beginner....
Most people think, investing in crypto is all about buying coins and leaving it to rise, come on it takes much analysis to be a successful crypto trader.
Trading without professional guide...Huh I laugh you, because you will remain where you are or even make huge losses that will stop you from trading, this has been one of the biggest problem to new traders
Honestly I really need help learning to trade. Seeing my portfolio low makes me very sad.
You're right! I have lost a lot trading all by myself without a guide. It's been an uneasy ride for me. Who is your mentor please. how can i reach her i really need help in this bear market now?
🇮🇳🤝🚽
😂😂😂
Great visualizations. what tool are you using ?
Note BRICS has 5x population, so even if it reaches exact opposite of 1991 scenario (ie BRICS 45% and G7 15%) it will still not be overtaking on per capita basis.
💀
So I guess hasti copy 1990 China economical program?
😢
This will and can change quickly by people refusing to buy Chinese crap.
If you want to be a world leader, respect other countries whether small or big. No to China’s bullying!!
China's GDP largely considered fiction AND does not follow western methods of calculation.
I hate to say this. But why China is so successful, alll comes down to just 2 things. It has great leaders and leadership team, and its not a democracy.
China does not democracy and congress. So no doubt it grew
Patriotic Dictatorship is better than Corrupt Democracy.. And China Promoted Uniculturism from the start, In a Multicultural State decision making is difficult.. China knew it very well so they unified all cultures to ons
Actually India going constantly but China is overperformed it's mistake of china😂😂😂😂😂😂
Well India had 4 major wars against Pakistan and India has to spend a lot of money in Kashmir for security reasons because of Pakistan supported terrorists....China never had security threats. Also India is democracy and China is an autocracy so India cannot act like China
I agree but Not only pakistan. Britishers, Mughals, congress, muslims, usa china are also reasons why lndia failed.
Kind of creepy
Bubble 💭 economy. What happens if it implodes.
等中国也上20万亿美元,百年内世界上将不会有下一个国家的GDP能超过10万亿,中美会把其他国家远远的甩在身后
Is it true?
Its a bit like trying to work out what Russia gdp is its what ever they wont you to think, Chinas gdp it may be a bit over inflated like there property marke lol
But India is Vishwaguru!
Wtf ?
@@kiteknight23 Ask Modiji. Even I say WTF?
That’s not a measure of China’s success more a critique of the west’s greed.
Its not surprising, our India in 65 position curpension thats why our GDP is much behind
Thanks to congress governments to make india poor
The 1 thing i know India beats China is in population.. lol they became thr most populated country in the world overtaking China in recent years i think.. As China grows, more couples are not willing to have kids or even get married.
Says who
India is way behind 7-8 times than China's GDP, It's a kind of time travel future travel 😂
please update ahah
The GDP of Chana and India both are artificially infleted.
Well world depend on china for basic goods. Even ur using chinese products all your life without knowing. It's not fake or anything
Indian here, what china has shown is truly exceptional, and something to learnt, not compared. Its the closest to a hockey stick growth example.
so Reagan is the one who created massive debt with his trickle down economics and we are still suffering from it.
Great data demo...China growth is copybook exponential growth...India missed the opportunity for sure...looked like an half hearted effort 😢
Indian people are equally smart and entrepreneur like Chinese - proven in USA and out of India. But, Business unfriendly policies of leftists era and corruption leading to crony capitalism are hindrance to India's growth.

Who cares,We have democracy, elections, Equality which can't be buyed with money
You have a popularity contest every couple of years, congrats? And what genuine equality can there be when a sizable portion of the Indian population is malnourished and barely literate?
So "democracy election equality" failed india?? Oh now it make sense.
Dictatorship vs Democracy
Failed democracy*
As long as Indians keep voting for Congress, India will never ever touch China's growth 😂
China is growing no doubt abt it , but being a democracy country and still manage to grow as India is still a good thing but a lot to change within In India
according to indian godi media china is nothing in front of India 😂
According to k2a india is a darul harab ( kafir state ) so basically you are a traitor

Fake communist GDP 😂
Whow! Let’s move to India or China 😂😂 Not!
Congrats of India, has left India in shambles
I mean that Chinese upswing in early 2000 - incredible, simply incredible. Just wow. Huge respect for the Chinese from India. Love them or hate them, we have to give credit where it's due.
As a young man starting to navigate through life I’ve always wondered how fucked we were. Sadly this graph shows me we are completely fucked. I am a civil engineer who bought a house little over a year ago and I can barely save any money and go on vacation once a year. I make good money and have difficulties I don’t know how other people are doing it. What will conditions be like we my kids are grown. I’ll probably have to buy their house for them. Sad times. We need tot address the debt sooner rather than later.
GDP of China is higher before 1991, just because of population. Remember, China always had higher population. In 1991, GDP oer capita became equal because China was growing all through 1980s.
Today lndia have more population than china. Yet also poorest. Ur logic not logicing neither your maths saar
